Description

Kisspeptin-10: KISS1R Agonist Decapeptide for Research Use

Kisspeptin-10 is the C-terminal decapeptide of kisspeptin, a family of peptides encoded by the KISS1 gene. It binds KISS1R (also called GPR54), a Gq-coupled receptor on hypothalamic GnRH neurons. In published physiology, kisspeptin signalling sits upstream of the GnRH pulse generator: activation of KISS1R triggers pulsatile GnRH release and downstream LH, FSH and gonadal steroid secretion, and loss-of-function KISS1R mutations cause hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. Kisspeptin-10 is the minimal fragment with full intrinsic activity, which makes it the standard tool compound for KISS1R research. LiveWell supplies it as a 10 mg lyophilized vial strictly for in-vitro laboratory research use only.

Why Researchers Study Kisspeptin-10

1. GnRH pulse generator research. Kisspeptin-10 is the reference agonist for studying how KISS1R activation drives pulsatile GnRH and LH release; the Imperial College London group has published the core human physiology using this fragment.

2. Receptor pharmacology. As the minimal fully active sequence, Kisspeptin-10 is the starting point for structure-activity work on KISS1R agonists and antagonists, including the longer-acting analog MVT-602 studied in female reproductive disorders.

3. Tachyphylaxis and dosing-pattern research. Published human studies compare continuous exposure, which desensitises the axis, with intermittent exposure, which sustained gonadotropin output over 12 days, a model question that extends to other peptide hormones.

4. Comparative neuroendocrine research. Kisspeptin is studied next to the GHRH analogs Sermorelin and Tesamorelin and the melanocortin agonist PT-141 as a way to separate hypothalamic control pathways in cell and animal models.

Published Clinical Literature (Research Reference)

For context only. These are findings from academic human physiology studies. These are results cited from peer-reviewed sources; they are not claims about LiveWell’s research-grade material.

  • First human study (J Clin Endocrinol Metab, 2005): a 90-minute kisspeptin-54 infusion significantly raised LH, FSH and testosterone versus saline in healthy men.
  • Kisspeptin-10 in men (J Clin Endocrinol Metab, 2011): intravenous bolus kisspeptin-10 dose-dependently raised LH, and continuous infusion increased testosterone, LH pulse frequency and pulse size.
  • Chronic subcutaneous Kisspeptin-10 (Eur J Endocrinol, 2026): daily intermittent dosing sustained gonadotropin and testosterone secretion for 12 days in healthy men, while continuous infusion produced tachyphylaxis.
  • KISS1R agonist analog (J Clin Invest, 2020): MVT-602 produced prolonged LH exposure versus native kisspeptin-54 in healthy women and in women with PCOS or hypothalamic amenorrhea.
  • Regulatory: no kisspeptin product is approved by the FDA or EMA; kisspeptin-10, kisspeptin-54 and MVT-602 remain investigational as of September 2026.

Storage & Handling

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Kisspeptin-10?

Kisspeptin-10 (CAS 374675-21-5) is the 10-amino-acid C-terminal fragment of kisspeptin, the product of the KISS1 gene, and the shortest sequence that retains full activity at the KISS1R (GPR54) receptor. We supply it as a 10 mg lyophilized vial strictly for in-vitro laboratory research.

What receptor does Kisspeptin-10 act on?

KISS1R, also called GPR54, a G protein-coupled receptor expressed on hypothalamic GnRH neurons. In published physiology, KISS1R activation is the upstream trigger for pulsatile GnRH release and the downstream LH and FSH response.

What did the human Kisspeptin-10 studies report?

In healthy men, intravenous kisspeptin-10 dose-dependently raised LH, and continuous infusion increased testosterone and LH pulse frequency (J Clin Endocrinol Metab, 2011). A 2026 study reported that daily intermittent subcutaneous dosing sustained gonadotropin output for 12 days. These are published findings cited for research reference only.

How does Kisspeptin-10 differ from Kisspeptin-54?

Both activate KISS1R. Kisspeptin-54 is the longer endogenous form used in the first human studies; Kisspeptin-10 is the minimal active fragment and is the standard research tool compound.

Does continuous exposure keep working?

Published human data show continuous infusion causes tachyphylaxis (the response fades), while intermittent exposure sustained gonadotropin secretion. That dosing-pattern question is one of the main reasons the fragment is studied.

What purity is LiveWell Kisspeptin-10, and is a COA included?

Every batch is third-party tested at ≥99% purity by HPLC, with mass spectrometry identity confirmation and LAL endotoxin testing. The batch Certificate of Analysis is published on our COA page the day the pre-order batch is released.

How should Kisspeptin-10 be stored and reconstituted?

Store the lyophilized vial refrigerated at 2 to 8°C, protected from light and heat. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water; reconstituted material has a considerably shorter storage window.

How do pre-orders work, and when will it ship?

Pre-orders are charged at checkout and ship in the order received once the first batch clears third-party testing and the COA is published. You will receive tracking the day it ships. If you change your mind before shipment, contact us for a full refund.

Is Kisspeptin-10 FDA approved?

No. No kisspeptin product is approved by the FDA or any regulator. The research-grade material sold by LiveWell is not a drug product, dietary supplement, food or cosmetic, and it is not intended for human or animal consumption.
